Comenius

Projekt summary

comeniusSchool as a Workplace

The project will focus on the school as a place where work is done and as such a place:

  • where communication between teachers, students and parents is encouraged,
  • where conflict can arise,
  • where diverse pedagogical practices are implemented,
  • where increased communication between partner schools can act as a catalyst for improved whole school development of each partner school.

The project will include the analysis of:

  • physical resources, such as equipment, class and classroom size, spatial working conditions (inside and outside the classroom),
  • physical appearance, such as diverse cultural iconography, aesthetic appeal and practical effectiveness of the schools’ working environment,
  • social aspects, such as conflicts and conflict resolution, racism, ethnic diversity, parents’ participation,
  • methodological aspects, such as learners’ autonomy, self-directed learning, and motivation.

What we hope to achieve in the project is:

  • improved communication between
    - whole school communities as part of whole school development planning,
    - and Comenius partners,
  • to facilitate increased awareness of the actual working conditions of the Comenius schools,
  • the interchange of positive whole school community ideas and pedagogical practices, which lead to increased feelings of ownership and empowerment for participants,
  • to increase the partner schools’ attractiveness for whole school communities by adopting “best practices”.
